Acrobatics (Various times and levels)
The acrobatics class
involves a barre warm-up, locomotor movement across the floor (kicks,
leaps, turns etc.), center floor work (including ab work, push-ups and
stretches) and mat work. Beginning students will be introduced to balance
skills such as headstands, handstands and elbow stands. Tumbling skills
such as basic rolls, cartwheels, backbends, front limbers and round-offs
will be taught. Occasionally, the balance beam and obstacle courses will
be incorporated. Intermediate students will work on perfecting the above
skills as well as working on walk-overs (front & back), running tricks
including front handsprings, stepouts, headsprings, etc., and
backhandsprings. Advanced students are expected to have the above
skills (two handed and one handed)and will continue to perfect them as
well as working on aerial tricks and advanced acro combinations. (Ballet
is required for the advanced level class). Levels progress in the
following order: I, IA, II, IIA, III. |

Ballet/Jazz/Tap I (Tues 3:45-5:15 pm)
&
Ballet/Jazz/Tap IA (Tues 3:45-5:15 pm)
A ninety minute class for dancers
ages 6 & up involving basic technique. A great chance for our
dancers to experience 3 dance forms. A half hour of each style will be
taught. The next level Ballet/Jazz/Tap IA is now available in Studio
II.
Students will need ballet, jazz and
tap shoes. The students will perform Jazz and Tap in the May
demonstration. |

Belly Dance (Thur 7:15 pm & Sat 10:30 am) |

Dance for Heart (Mon 6:30 pm & Wed 6:45 pm)
The Dance for Heart
encompasses it all! The class is broken down into 4 sections:

A dance oriented warm-up often in
the style of Ballet, Modern or Jazz
-
Aerobic Section which consists of
various type of dances which could include Musical Theatre, Modern,
Lyrical, Jazz, Folk, Afro-Caribbean, Squares, Circles etc. (depending
upon which routine we are doing). The pulse is taken throughout
this section.

A Strengthen and Tone Section which
consists of Pilates based exercises, weights, dynabands, balls, etc.
(again depending upon which routine we are doing).

A Stretch and Relaxation
Section which could include dance and/or yoga stretches, dynaband
stretching and relaxation and breathing techniques.
Please note that it is
important to attend the 1st few weeks when the routine is broken down and
taught slowly.
New routines
are introduced periodically (September, January and April).
New students
are always welcome.

Parent/Tot
(Thurs 9:30 am)
A 45-minute class which incorporates
dance, song, creative movement, tumbling, instruments, parachute and more!
It's a great way to spend time with your child while meeting other
parents. We meet on Thursday mornings 9:15-10am. The session rate is
$51.00 for 6 weeks; or you can pay as you go for $10 per class. Have 2
kids? The 2nd child is 1/2 price! Join us as we explore the balance
beam, tunnels, jumpers, slides etc. We have a lot of fun!!

Playtime (Wed. 9:30 am) |
|
Bring your toddler and join us for
fun with the balance beam, scooters, tunnels, slide and more! Get
out of the house and meet other parents while your child builds social
skills. Arrive when you can; leave when you want; this is not an
organized class. |

PRE-DANCE
(Thurs 10:15 am & Sat 9:45
am)
A introduction to dance for kids ages
3.5 - 5 years old. The class includes ballet, tumbling, creative movement
and more! The Saturday Pre-Dance class is designed for working parents
and/or kids enrolled in Pre-K programs during the week. |

Beginner Power Yoga - (Wed. 5:45
pm)
This energetic practice will bring
up heat, encourage deep breathing and allow you to slow down and listen
to your body.
A perfect class for overworked
parents and offered at the same time as our Youth Modern class!
